Digitized Examples

If your slides are in good condition with no damage, impregnated dirt, over/under exposure, or any discoloration, quality pictures like these can be achieved.

                Slide Sizes                                                    Examples

Here’s what a standard 35mm slide in a 2″ x 2″ mount looks like. The frame size (black area) is usually about 34mm x 23mm, although it does vary by manufacturer and slide age.  Because my digitizing lens is of the 35mm variety, the picture fills the frame.

Here’s what a 126 slide in a 2″ x 2″ mount looks like. The viewable area is usually about 26.5mm x 26.5mm.  When combined in carousels with 35mm slides, a few mm on the top and bottom will be cropped.  In a carousel with just these sizes, the slides will digitize completely, but will always have the black border.  I can crop these slides for a fee, or leave them be.

Here’s what a 110 slide in a 2″ x 2″ mount looks like. The viewable frame size is about 12mm x 16mm.  I adjust my focal distance to minimize the border around the picture, but there will always be a border around the picture.  I can crop these slides for a fee or leave them be.
